Renata Jungo Brüngger has been a member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG - now Mercedes-Benz Group AG - since January 1, 2016 and in this role is responsible for Integrity, Governance & Sustainability. She is also a member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz AG and a member of the Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck AG and Munich RE AG.

At the end of July 2023, the Supervisory Board of Mercedes-Benz Group AG decided to establish a cross-divisional steering and coordination function for sustainability management in the company at Board of Management level. Renata Jungo Brüngger has assumed responsibility for this with her department, which has since been called Integrity, Governance & Sustainability (previously: Integrity & Legal Affairs). Mercedes-Benz is thus taking account of the constantly growing complexity and increasing legal relevance of this multifaceted topic and creating a central point of contact for all relevant stakeholder groups.

Against this highly topical background, we are very much looking forward to an exciting discussion with Renata Jungo Brüngger on the important question of whether (and how much) law belongs in the boardroom. Among other things, we want to know from her:

- How companies can ensure that legal aspects are incorporated into strategy development early enough and where the legal department should be located in the organizational chart;

- how it ensures that new risks such as software and sustainability are taken into account at Mercedes - especially in times of crisis and transformation; and

- how digitalization and legal tech can support this.

This webinar series on legal tech and legal operations is presented by CASUS. Leo Staub, Prof. em. of the University of St. Gallen (HSG), and attorney Florian Stuber from CASUS interview various guests on topics related to law, technology, collaboration and efficiency in legal departments.
